Michèle Roberts, Chair
After 25 years in the Insurance Industry, Michèle decided it was time to follow her passion: baking! Thirteen years ago, she opened Tartistry, a butter tart café. What could be more Canadian? She is rigid regarding her ingredients, only organic & pure will do and above all else, she swears by butter and only butter.

In a nutshell, what’s your role?
I get to work alongside our amazing board and local businesses to keep The Queensway vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. I love dreaming up projects and events that bring people together, and I’m especially passionate about supporting the small businesses that make our street so unique. Most days, you’ll find me popping into local shops, chatting with neighbours, or brainstorming the next idea to help The Queensway shine.
Hidden gem alert: What’s yours on The Q?
Shout out to Code Ninjas! Their business teaches kids how to code by letting them build video games they’re excited about. I think it’s amazing that The Queensway has a spot that not only sparks creativity, but also nurtures and encourages young minds to explore technology in such a fun, hands-on way. It’s the kind of place that makes learning feel like play — and that’s something pretty special for our community.
Pineapple on pizza — yes or no?
Absolutely yes. Pineapple belongs on pizza and I will happily defend it.
