On Thursday, October 23rd, Shop The Queensway BIA is partnering with Great Lakes Brewery to host Cheers to Local Businesses — a free appreciation night for our BIA members and community partners.
This relaxed after-hours event is all about connection, collaboration, and celebration — bringing together the people behind our shops, restaurants, and services for an evening of food, conversation, and local pride.
Why We’re Hosting This Event
At Shop The Queensway BIA, our goal is simple: to build community and strengthen the local business network that makes our neighbourhood unique.
Cheers to Local Businesses is more than a networking night — it’s our way of saying thank you to our members for the work they do every day to keep The Queensway growing. It’s also a chance for local business owners to meet each other, exchange ideas, and explore ways to collaborate through upcoming BIA programs like our Business Spotlight Series.
What to Expect
Here’s what’s brewing at Great Lakes Brewery:
- Fresh New York–style pizza from the GLB food truck
- Beer tastings and samples (with non-alcoholic options available)
- Guest remarks from Troy (Great Lakes Brewery), Michele Roberts (BIA Chair), and Jo (BIA Executive Director)
- Sip & Spotlight — a casual activity where members can share ideas and sign up to be featured in the BIA’s upcoming Business Spotlight Series
- A behind-the-scenes brewery tour at 7PM
- Content capture throughout the night — highlighting our members and the businesses that make The Queensway shine
Who’s Invited
This event is free for Shop The Queensway BIA members and is open to all businesses within our BIA boundaries.
Each member is welcome to bring a plus-one — whether that’s a staff member, business partner, or friend from the community.
